what is there to do in Pasadena?

We'll be traveling to Pasadena in just a couple weeks to visit our daughter who just graduated from Pepperdine and has relocated to Pasadena.  My husband and I are curious to know..... what exactly is there to do in Pasadena?  Not much into museums, but we're willing... we'll probably drag our daughter to the beach somewhere, but what else?  We're in our mid-40's physically, but our late 20's mentally..... so........... give me some ideas.... PLEASE!

Fluoride Supplements: Unapproved, Ineffective and Harmful

"There is weak and inconsistent evidence that the use of fluoride supplements prevents dental caries [cavities] in primary teeth," according to a systematic review of fluoride supplement research published in the November 2008 Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA).

happy hour!!

so happy hour is really longer than hour, which is a blessed miracle, but a lot of them end at 6 or so. i know Fred's has a college night on wednesdays that starts at 6 where beer is only a buck, but i gotta find more happy hours later in the evening that can also suit my starving college artist student pocket. any suggestions????

Local businesses moving out?

Does anybody know what is going on in regards to local businesses? I'm starting to see an increase in empty store front locations.

I remember Ruby's leaving because of the high rent. A Mexican restaurant moved in but only for a short period of time. Gordon Bierch is gone also because of high rent. I'm sure there is a couple of retailers as well.

Are they all moving out because of high rent or is there something else going on?

Economy of Pasadena?

Do you think that Pasadena is being affected by the slumping economy?

I see less people walking around Old Town, but maybe the businesses aren't suffering as badly as other places.
